Oh, Europe. How I miss you. One of the best things I started doing midway through my trip was taking videos. I wish I had done more of that while in other countries but I’m glad I got started in Amsterdam and continued through Spain, Morocco and Paris. I have these wonderful little snippets of where I was and what I was doing.
Instead of talking about video games, which was the suggested VEDA topic today, I decided to put together a montage of a few videos that I took while overseas. Introduced with a short video of me drinking wine and making a smacking noise which, if you watched yesterdays video, you will know that that noise drives me CRAZY. So I annoy myself today.
- The first video is from San Sebastian, Spain. It was an incredibly gorgeous place and I would stand at this one spot along the walkway that had all these great big rocks with waves crashing into them. For some reason I have like 50 million pictures of the crashing waves and a couple videos. What can I say, I was easily entertained.
- The second video is especially hilarious, at least to me. I was in Amsterdam with Russell, the star of this video, and he had a really bad trip off of a special brownie. For two whole days he had no idea who he was, who I was and where we were. He clung to me for two days for fear of letting go and forgetting he could trust me. While wandering the streets he would repeat the same thing over and over again: My name is Russell. I’m in Amsterdam. That is Ashley. You can trust her. At one point, the second day right before a tour, he started saying it in French. I got it on camera.
- The third video is a lovely shot of Barcelona’s skyline, complete with an acoustic version of Killing Me Softly done by a street performer.
- The fourth, and my favorite, was taken in the Sahara desert as Anneke, Richard and I rode camels to watch the sunset from the dunes. It was probably my most favorite experience from all of Europe!
- The last was taken my first night in Paris. I had a love affair with the Eiffel Tower, as some of you may know, and I was obsessed from the beginning. This was taken standing on the bridge looking up at the sparkling Tower.
I hope you enjoy the video montage, and enjoy your weekend! This whole working on the weekends thing is taking some getting used to. It’s not as horrible as I thought it might be but it sucks when people want to do things Saturday or Sunday during the day and I can’t participate since I have to work. So THAT sucks but this video is pretty stellar so watch it! (I apologize for the poor quality. I couldn’t upload the full quality one without the video freezing)
