I knew as soon as I said I wanted to take a blogging hiatus that I would suddenly have ten million ideas for posts. And that’s exactly what happened. My brain also almost exploded from all the ideas I had for the direction this blog was going to go in. I was blown away by all your wonderful supportive comments. It gave me the little kick in the butt to help me reevaluate and remember why I blog. When I started blogging three years ago, I did not have one single reader. I only started because I wanted to write and document the funny things that were happening in my life. I never imagined the community that came along with it, the wonderful people I’ve known for years and the new people I’m just beginning to know. I need to remember this and not forget it as I start taking my blog down new roads and towards new things.
So, I apologize for the dramatics and the whining in the last post. I tend to do that, the whole dramatics thing. I’m working on getting better at that.
The announcement of the blog hiatus also kickstarted what I wanted to do a couple months ago: turn this blog into a more travel-themed blog. Travel, more than anything else, is what I’ve been the most passionate about lately, and I think it shows when I write about it. So if you click through to my blog you will see a bunch of changes. Actually, nothing will look the same. I have a brand new, pretty customized theme (to the best of my abilities), along with new pages and new features. I’m really excited, and actually quite proud of myself (thank you Nico for fielding questions from me!) for the final product. Of course there will be more things being introduced but for now, this will do.
Some things I want to incorporate into my blog as I go forward is to have a few features. Travel Vlog Tuesday is one of them. In my navigation menu you can see a page entitled, Ask Me A Question! I got this idea from Doni who is doing Formspring Fridays, as well as from people who get in touch with me to ask me questions about travel. I figured it’d be a good way to start vlogging, to start answering people’s questions about travel. It can be about anything–my experiences, to advice you need on your trips, to why I decided to quit my job to what is wrong with me. Depending on how many people ask me questions, I will answer on a vlog as well as answer questions via blog and email.
I have a lot of ideas swirling around. I had several brain storms (and putting together this theme felt like my brain was having a storm. It took me three days to put it together. THREE. DAYS. Plus one massive headache. The last theme? Took me 20 minutes.) and I’m going to continue writing personal stuff but there will be a lot more travel talk going on around here.
So thanks to everyone for putting up with my little blogging hissy fit and hopefully I won’t be doing that again. If I do, I give you all permission to abandon this ship immediately. Just, not yet.
By the way, I’ve filmed my first vlog. Who knew it was so addicting??! Now I just want to talk out my posts instead of actually write them. Oh, and if you think I’m longwinded on a post, WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE ME VLOG. Holy hell I can talk.

Yay
Glad you’ve decided to stick around!
LOVE the new design! And I’m glad you’re already back.
Sometimes you just need to step away for a nanosecond to realize that you still want to do something and still have a passion for it, even if it takes a new direction.
